Social Action’s mission is to engage the Temple Israel Community in Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) daily. Through collections, sandwich brigades, our annual Mitzvah Day and specific targeted fundraising events, Temple Israel engages and supports local neighbors in Westchester and beyond.
Every B’nei Mitzvah student chooses a Mitzvah project to plan and carry-out leading up to their Bar/Bat Mitzvah day on the bimah. We engage our teens to focus on social action, as well as our Kehillah School for Early Learning families who are active participants and organizers of projects throughout the year.
