POSTPONED
Mamboniks Movie Night
Saturday, March 21st • Doors open at 7 pm,
Evening begins at 7:30 pm
All welcome to join Sisterhood for a movie evening of The Mamboniks.
“During the 1950s, free-spirited, mostly Jewish dancers from New York City fell head over heels for the mambo, a hot dance from Havana, Cuba. Their love for Latin rhythms earned them a nickname: the mamboniks.” This movie “tells a surprising, little-known story: how two cultures, Jewish and Latin, met on the dance floor at a time when America was racially segregated, and anti-Semitism was commonplace.”
The evening will also include a 30 minute mambo lesson. $18 per adult, $25 at the door.
