Temple Israel is running a book drive for The Sharing Shelf (TSS).
Annually, TSS packs and donates 1200-1500 books to low income pre-K – 12th graders in Westchester. Given this year’s circumstances the goal is to provide extra material for the kids in case remote instruction is required.
We are collecting the following types of books in EXCELLENT condition:
DROP OFF:
You may drop off books at the front door of the temple beginning Monday, 8/10, through Friday, 8/14.
You may also drop off books at our houses:

Please let us know if you are interested in collecting books at your house. This is a great project for a family or for your children. If collecting books, we will need you to do quality control and sort them into the age appropriate groups listed above. We can sign school forms for volunteer hours.
BOOK SORTING:
Volunteers will do a final sort the weekend of 8/14. Time and place TBD, but we will be outdoors and wearing masks. Please let us know if you are interested.
