Who are Albert & Muriel Balik?

We are delighted to introduce an exciting new enrichment program that has been established in loving memory of Albert & Muriel Balik, who were Temple Israel New Rochelle founding members (Pinebrook location) and supporters since 1960.

A beloved and extraordinary couple, Al & Muriel shared a deep devotion to family, community, and a lifelong love of learning. They continue to inspire their four children and spouses, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren with their shining examples of living life to its fullest at any age.

The Albert & Muriel Balik Senior Enrichment Series was specifically inspired by Muriel, who voiced the need for stimulating programs at TINR for the senior community shortly before she passed away in August 2023.

The Balik Senior Enrichment Series will offer two speaker programs per year. The series kicks off on Monday, June 3 with a luncheon program featuring Rachel Beanland, author of “Florence Adler Swims Forever,” a book which Muriel read and greatly enjoyed.

This program will be offered to TINR members and the community at-large on a complimentary basis, made possible by a donation from the Balik siblings (including Richard, who with his wife Karen are longtime TINR members).
