Mitzvah Day 2022

Mitzvah Day was a huge success! Temple Israel makes a difference in the Community!

We packed over 140 gift bags of diapers, wipes and books for My Sister’s Place, over 50 bags filled with cards and winter items for Pleasantville Cottage School, met with our local police and firefighters to learn about how they keep us safe and thanked them with over 40 packages of cocoa and cookies, learned about the work at the Humane Society in New Rochelle, met Frankie, and created over 60 dog and car toys for animals at the shelter.
Frankie is looking for her forever home so if you have room and love in your family for her, she would be a wonderful addition!
We also created blankets for Project Linus that will be brought to hospitals to be used by infants and young children, and the Better Together, our Intergenerational group of teens and adults, made soup and corn bread to feed 100 people at HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle.
