SUMMARY:“Letters from the Affair\,” a performance by Cantor Schloss (7:
 30 pm\, time change)
DESCRIPTION:The Afro-Semitic Experience will be giving two live performance
s of our work\, “Letters from the Affair\,” at the FRINGEPVD\, the Pro
vidence Fringe festival on Wednesday\, July 22 and (note time change) Thur
sday\, July 23 at 7:30 p.m.\, EST. Because of the pandemic\, both performa
nces will be streamed online from the festival.\n\nJoining us for this per
formance will be Cantor Martin Levson who will be singing the role of Edga
r Degas\, and Cantor Randall Schloss\, who will be singing the role of Cam
ille Pissarro.\n\nLetters from the Affair tells a little-known story about
the Dreyfus Affair and how it ended the friendship between the artists Ed
gar Degas and Camille Pissarro.  The work traces the relationship of the
two artists from before the first impressionist exhibition until Pissarro
’s death in 1903.  All of lyrics to the songs in this work are taken di
rectly from letters written by these two artists\, hence the title of the
piece. For more about the work please visit our  FRINGEPVD page. http://f
 ringepvd.org/letters-from-the-affair.html\n\nPerformances will be streamed
live from the FRINGEPVD Facebook page at facebook.com/fringepvd\, and o
n the Wilbury Theatre Group YouTube page at youtube.com/wilburytheatregro
up.\n\nAudiences may view the performances for free as they happen live\,
or purchase a 2020 Fringe Access Pass for $20 to view performances at thei
r convenience on the FRINGEPVD website at fringepvd.org/all-access.\n\n
Please help us and support this performance\n\nWhile you can view our perf
ormance for free\, we really do need your support in order to help cover t
he costs to put on this work. We are livestreaming our performance from a
recording studio with our two main characters in isolation booths to elimi
nate any possible COVID aerosol spread. But the cost of the studio and the
video team is high and we are doing this without a grant\, $5\, $10\, any
amount will help us to at least cover our costs.  If you are in a positi
on to help\, please click on the donate link on our  FRINGEPVD page: http

SUMMARY:Temple Israel's Oral History Project - Still On-Going\, Join Us!
DESCRIPTION:Tell Your Story!\nOne of the oldest human (and Jewish) traditio
ns is story-telling. Now at Temple Israel\, we are continuing a project to
collect our stories.\n\nTemple Israel is a congregation of hundreds of fa
milies\, each with its own stories. Some of those stories took place in ou
r building\, or in the Webster building\, or perhaps in one of the even ea
rlier buildings downtown. We are looking for people who want to share thei
r stories of Temple Israel\, and for volunteers to help us collect them. W
e will be recording interviews with willing subjects at the Temple or anot
her convenient location. The recordings will be archived at the Temple\, w
here they can be viewed. We plan to develop the means for the interviews t
o be viewed remotely\, so that stories can be shared with people who are n
ot nearby.\n\nIf you are interested in interviewing or being interviewed\,
contact Warren Agatston or Stan Konwiser to volunteer. Mia Egelberg sched
ules the sessions.\n\n\nA special thank you to Brotherhood and Sisterhood\

SUMMARY:Mitzvah Season 2021-ONGOING FOR THE YEAR!
DESCRIPTION:Mitzvah Day is Mitzvah Season...but we're still doing Mitzvahs!
Join us!\nWhat about Mitzvah Day?\nThe SAC is developing projects for a "
Mitzvah Season" by creating activities that can be completed at home on yo
ur own and via ZOOM as a community. These projects will begin to launch in
January.\n\nWhy are we waiting for January when there is so much need?\nI
t is after the holidays that we hope to give support where it is most need
ed. During the holiday season non-profit organizations are inundated with
much needed support but come February and March\, donations and pantries o
ften begin to dry up. Given the current situation\, we want to ensure that
we are working year-round to support these organizations.\nWhat are some
of the FOUR projects still in the works?\n\n\n\n1. Cook for a Cause: Maril
yn Morris cooks regularly for HOPE Community Services or Community Service
Associates. If you are interested in helping\, please click to contact Ma
rilyn Morris to learn more.\n\n\n\n2. Toiletry Kits: include personal hygi
ene items and laundry detergent. We need a leader for this project.\n\n\n\

elach\, tea\, and a homemade card to deliver to some of our own congregant
