An Israel Action Committee Program at Temple Israel

“Israel Matters” is a new program to be held at Temple Israel one Sunday per month, from 10:00-11:30 am. After the resounding success of its first meeting, continued get-togethers will happen on the following Sundays on these dates in 2022 with Paul Warhit, President of the Israel Action Committee:

LAST DAY! June 5th

Goals of the Program

  • Improving the quality of Israel conversation and level of engagement. The “Israeli/Palestinian Conversation” is incredibly nuanced. There are very few (if any) black and white issues.
  • Showing people that they can exchange ideas about Israel with folks they disagree with, and nobody will melt.
  • Our goal is NOT to persuade participants toward one viewpoint or another. You are free to move from your position if you so choose.
  • A serious threat to Israel is many Jews simply NOT willing to engage with the Israel discussion. One cause is the lack of civility and ability to openly ask questions, discuss issues, and voice concerns.

Questions/Register to Paul Warhit or (914) 316-9742.
Space is very limited, so please register as soon as possible. First come first serve.

Masking and vaccination are required when gathering at Temple Israel:
1. Cloth masks are not acceptable. The minimum acceptable is a surgical mask. If needed, we will provide you with one.
2. Any immunocompromised individual who is unable to be vaccinated but still chooses to attend may, in advance, have their individual situation reviewed on a case by case basis.
