Sisterhood Family Shabbat Dinner

Sisterhood Activities
Sisterhood sponsors activities throughout the year that benefit the Temple and the community. Some activities include community Shabbat dinners; a Chanukah boutique; regular educational and cultural programs; and participation in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Sisterhood supports the youth at the Temple by providing gifts to the B'nai Mitzvah students and creating Chanukah bags for all the religious school and nursery school children.

HOPE Food Pantry Collection
Sisterhood collects non-perishable items on an ongoing basis for the HOPE Community Service Food Pantry in New Rochelle. All items can be placed in the boxes in the Temple foyer at any time.

Bimah Honors
Sisterhood is represented on the bimah for all Bar and Bat Mitzvah and has the privilege of presenting the B'nai Mitzvah celebrants with a personal gift and a donation to an Israeli charity.

Ceremonial Corner
Sisterhood maintains a Judaic gift shop in the Temple with a variety of gift and holiday items. Purchases can be made Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, or by appointment by calling the Temple office.

Temple Israel Cares
Along with the Temple Israel Cares committee, Sisterhood reaches out to our congregants, community and Israel to provide support and comfort. The group writes get well notes, visits the homebound and helps those in need by doing their errands and providing meals.

Membership
Becoming a member of Sisterhood is easy. You can pay your annual dues directly by check to Sisterhood/WRJ or by checking the box on your Temple payment invoice. For the latter, please include a note to take Sisterhood/WRJ dues out of your first Temple payment. Dues are $45 a year, a portion of which goes toward supporting Women of Reform Judaism, our parent organization. WRJ represents 100,000 women in 600 local Sisterhoods throughout the United States, Canada and thirteen other countries, and is the women's agency of the Union for Reform Judaism, the central body of Reform Judaism in North America.
